Hair can be a visible marker of health; it can reflect whether we're giving our body good quality nutrition or if our body is not assimilating the nutrition it receives.
There are so many hair supplements on the market: some feature Biotin, others silica, and many others contain harmful chemicals. Because we respect the intelligence of our clientele, we are including clinical data for the reasons our formula works. For the rest of you who already know, enjoy your more abundant and glorious hair!
Hair Beyond Compare features Fo-Ti (also known as She-Min, He-Sho-Wu or He-Sho-Wuo; in Chinese, it roughly means 'the man with dark hair.' Fo-Ti in itself is a master herb! Because everyone has different needs and deficiencies and because herbal formulas seem to work best when they are used in a 'synergistic' way, our formulation includes other traditional hair growth-promoting herbs. The Vocabulary Online dictionary defines synergy as follows: 'When synergistic parts work together, they accomplish more than they could alone. Synergetic is often used to describe the effect of drugs working together ...'.
In addition to Fo-Ti, our formula includes Biotin, a B-vitamin. In theory, we should obtain enough in our daily diet. The Mayo Clinic states: 'Biotin is found in various foods, including liver, cauliflower, salmon, carrots, bananas, soy flour, cereals, and yeast. Biotin content of food is reduced by cooking and preserving.' After reviewing this list, the typical American diet, and how few of these foods we consume in an unprocessed state, we can understand why many do see benefits from Biotin supplementation. The Mayo Clinic continues: ' A lack of biotin is rare. However, if it occurs it may lead to skin rash, loss of hair...'. Mayo lists other nutritional causes such as: 'if you skimp on good dietary sources of iron and protein, such as red meat, nonfat dairy products and iron-fortified cereal. Hair loss related to poor nutrition often accompanies eating disorders and crash dieting.' For other medical causes of hair thinning, see the Mayo Clinic's online explanation under "Hair Loss".
Our formula contains Horsetail because of its high silica content. Livestrong.com observes: 'This mineral helps to strengthen your blood vessels and improve circulation, which can stimulate the blood flow to your scalp and encourage growth. It also is a necessary component of your skin’s connective tissues and helps to strengthen your bones, nails and hair.'
Kudzu has many properties, but it is in our formula because Kudzu contains Isoflavones.
Burdock is included because of its content of mucilage, inulin, tannins, Vitamin A, and essential fatty acids. It is believed that Vitamin A and fatty acids may benefit scalp conditions.
For those with allergies to sesame seed, we would advise that our hair formula contains black sesame seed. For centuries, black sesame seed has been used in the Orient to reverse graying hair. The clinical study: 'Value addition in sesame: A perspective on bioactive components...' observes: 'Sesame seed benefits the body as a whole...is also known to blacken the hair, especially the black sesame...'
