It appears that they suppress your appetite and improve insulin sensitivity. Typically subscribed to those with a body mass index (BMI) over 30 or a BMI of 27 or higher when accompanied with a weight-related condition like type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure. This drug cannot be taken if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, have glaucoma, have thyroid problems, are taking certain medicines, or have certain allergies. Qsymia can cause serious birth defects, increase heart rate, cause suicidal thoughts or actions, cause serious eye problems, mood changes, concentration, memory and speech difficulties, increase acid in the bloodstream, lower blood sugar, cause issues with the central nervous system including seizures, cause kidney stones, and other issues.
- Saxenda - FDA approved prescription. This drug is injected into your body using a syringe and helps reduce the food intake. This drug can cause thyroid tumors, including cancer, inflammation of the pancreas, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar, increase heart rate, kidney problems, serious allergic reactions, depression or thoughts of suicide, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, headache, vomiting, tiredness, dizziness, and more.
- Alli - FDA approved over the counter drug. A lower dose of the same drug as Xenical. Similar side effects.
