President, Remedy's Nutrition®

Key Largo, Florida · Founder since 1972

Gene C. Lentz is the president of Remedy's Nutrition®, a family-owned supplement company he has led for more than five decades. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised between Apache Junction, Arizona and Brooklyn, New York before settling in the Florida Keys, Gene built Remedy's on a simple premise: that disease prevention and responsible self-care should come before the prescription pad, and that supplements should be made the way a family would make them for their own.

Remedy's takes its name from his wife's grandmother, whose surname was Remedy — a fitting coincidence for a company that today formulates every herbal blend by hand, without fillers, binders, or preservatives, in line with cGMP production standards. To the best of the Lentz family's knowledge, Remedy's is the oldest privately owned nutritional company on the U.S. East Coast still operating under its original ownership.

A Family Background in Healthcare

Gene grew up in a household of pharmacists, nurses, and teachers, which shaped the way he thinks about nutrition today. Conventional medicine, he is quick to acknowledge, is essential and sometimes the only answer. But where prevention is possible — through diet, herbs, and a working understanding of how the body detoxifies and repairs itself — he believes that is almost always the better first step. That philosophy is the thread running through every product Remedy's makes.

What Sets Remedy's Apart

Remedy's is a working kitchen, not a factory. Formulas are compounded in small batches by people who know the customer by name. There are no fillers, additives, or preservatives in the herbal line, and every blend follows current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards. Gene combines traditional herbal preparations — many of them with centuries of clinical use behind them — with contemporary nutritional research, and the result is a catalog built for real outcomes rather than shelf appeal.

Favorite Formulation

Asked which of the Remedy's products he reaches for first, Gene doesn't hesitate: Lymph Cleanse. The lymphatic system is one of the body's primary detoxification pathways, and the spleen — the largest lymphatic organ — is often overlooked in everyday wellness conversations. When lymphatic flow is working properly, most other systems tend to work better too.

Heritage, Hobbies, and Off-Duty Hours

Gene is of Cherokee and Irish descent; his great-great-grandfather was a full-blood Cherokee in Oklahoma. Before the nutrition business, he spent several years as a working tennis professional, and the game is still his favorite way to spend an afternoon. When he is not on the court or in the shop, he is almost certainly on his backcountry boat, fishing the flats of the Florida Keys. Most of all, he values quiet time with his wife — the kind of unhurried hours that a family business rarely leaves room for.
